I’m due to have my first hospital consultant appointment this Friday, and am looking for guidance from PMR buddies. What questions should I be asking, more importantly what answers am I looking for? Similar to many on this forum my life has been turned upside down by this, from a very active dog walker and ballroom dancer to someone who struggles to put a bra on!! Current dose is 20mg down from 30mg at start but still with morning aches and stiffness.

I read the healthunlocked post before my first hospital visit and wrote a long list of questions to take with me. I made notes throughout the consultation to make sure I didn't miss anything. I did the same for my next visit. I found it v useful. Don't be afraid to ask the consultant to go through things more than once! Good luck!
I assume the consultant is a rheumatologist? If so just tell them how you feel with a bit of history.
I would ask if you can do your own taper with advice from on here for a start. Your symptoms are telling you not to drop any more at the moment. It’s a long slow journey but manageable. Don’t be rushed to reduce. Don’t be afraid to stick up for yourself AND make sure you’re resting plenty. Good luck. X
