You are not an island - the importance of having support, and giving it

I got these links sent to me today. Normally with such things I glance at the title and say yeah I'll come back and read this sometime, and then it stays in my email inbox for years, untouched.

But today I thought, yeah I'll have a teabreak and read that now, so I did and it was useful so am sharing it.

I see HU as a vital part of the support I need to be amongst people who get it, but it's a reminder that we need our nearest and dearest on board sometimes too. And not to get offended when they get it wrong.

How To Help Those We Love

This is a great little video that recognises how difficult it is, in practice, to help those we love. The ways that we like to be supported might be different to that which is offered to us. In other words, don't treat people as you'd like to be treated but how they would like to be treated.

Put the kettle on and read or listen for a 20 minute or so breather.
