It's been 29c in the south east today and it has badly affected my pmr like last week (39c). Went shopping early as ok, but as it got hotter my hips got stiffer and stiffer. I did my physio exercises to strength the glutes early no problem. By mid afternoon I felt really stiff in the hips but by the evening I was OK again. So odd. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me??

Affected by Heat?
Hi. Yes, the heat affects me - or at least it has done this year. I've spent a fair part of my days lately lying on the bed or napping. I haven't had any return of symptoms🤞🏼. I think the high humidity has a lot to do with it and indoors we don't have air conditioning. I walk early in the day and am drinking more water.I have a theory about your glute pain which may have a connection with the way you walked yesterday. When I am walking for exercise I pay attention to my stride so that I walk from the hip and not the knee and manage an hour comfortably. When, on the rare occasion I walk in town my stride shortens and 15 minutes going from one shop to another makes me feel achy and a bit 'wobbly'.
May sound rubbish but give it some thought. Don't forget to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated!
My hips have been very stiff but it isn't just the heat though I'm sure it has contributed. We have now had 3 weeks with temps at and above 30C plus lots of sun that adds at least 10C when you are out in it. I definitely feel worse on days with higher humidity than we are used to - usually not more than 20%, today was 53% when I was out and it was horrible!
Totally agree. Cooler weather definitely agrees better with me. Cooler today thankfully at 24c.
Yes ….few days flat out on my bed with the cat …..I used to love the sun but now can’t wait for those lovely cool days and nights!
