I was diagnosed with pmr in May this year and I was wondering if anyone suffers with cramp at the side of the neck, which radiates up to the side of the head and is very painful for about 10 seconds or more, could it be the pmr or something else?

No and it sounds horrid so I would get a doctor to investigate straight away.

From just behind the ear down to the collarbone? It could be the sternocleidomastoid muscle is tight and cramping in certain positions - where you tend to get a stiff neck

shows where it is

tells you more about it.
It could be part of the PMR as it upsets all sorts of muscles but it can happen anyway.
But it does need to be mentioned to a doctor.
A good Physiotherapist may be able to explain this and refer you on if needs be. It doesn’t sound like PMR. More like a trapped nerve or something like that. It needs investigating pronto.
