I diagnosed pmr after four consultations with a g.p..There was no opinion of what I was suffering from. I was in agony for a few days and I had reduced mobility. I decided to take 1mg of dexamethasone daily; this removed all pain and restored all mobility. I am taking the dexamethasone on a reducing period [ 1mg / 32 hours] ,gradually increasing the time between tablets. and I am fine at present.

Hi and welcome!
I'm sorry - at present I have only one question: why on earth is he using dexamethasone to manage PMR? That never gets a mention in any literature that I know of! I also don;t quite understand how the reducing approach is working.
It doesn;t matter how powerful the corticosteroid you use at the start it - PMR is NOT an accute disorder whereby you give a hefty dose of steroid and it is cured, Steroids are a management strategy for a chronic rheumatic disorder - that lasts years, not a couple of weeks.
