Moderna booster

I had a letter inviting me to have a fourth jab and took up the offer at the start of May.

I'd previously had 3 Pfizer jabs but this was moderna.

A few days after the jab I was quite unwell with headache runny nose and continuous cough which lasted just over a week.

Couple of days ago I started to get the same symptoms and today tested positive for covid along with the entire household.

Ah well,

If I'm honest, Ive probably had worse hangovers.

Lots of people are saying they get reactions with Moderna - I did with the second. My 3rd and 4th jabs were Pfizer - not a sausage.

Hope it has done its job and the real Covid is pretty mild for you! get well soon.

Trouble is, you never get to choose which one you have!

We all do really get to choose which one we have by not rolling up our sleeves when told which it is and it t being the one we want. We asked the important question of which it is before they have opened up the packaging to inject us with whichever covid vaccination brand concoction giver "oops I mean protector against" they have available. We have voices to ask which type it is, and to say no thank you if it isn't the one we want, and to say/ask alert me when whichever vaccination type it is we want is available.

On what basis will you judge between the different vaccines available? Hearsay? Partially understood technical papers that you read on-line? Other peoples opinions based on prejudice? Rumours spread on social media? Surely as the vaccine offered is approved by your country's medical authorities you should accept it and be grateful? I have now received five vaccines from three different manufacturers without any problems at all. No offence meant but I do question why folks are worried about such things.

Well, yes, you have a point, but I don't think our surgery ever has anything other than Pfizer.

To be honest, I was grateful to get an offer. My wife didn't get a letter despite having PMR and being type II diabetic.

She had low immunity and had just returned home from hospital having had nephritis .

Unfortunately she caught covid in hospital and tested positive following a home test.

The next day I tested positive, followed by my son, daughter, her husband and our 7 weeks old grandson.

To be honest, we are all fine but are probably lucky to have all caught the less serious of the two current Omicron variants.

Hospital admissions in the uk have again spiked so perhaps it might be wise to take an offer of vaccination when you get the chance.
