PMR dose timing when traveling

I have a long flight from the US West coast to India for a 2 week trip.. India is 12 hours ahead. Normally I take my 5mg pred around 4am which is 4pm in India. I can’t imagine that's an ideal time but am unsure of how to move it to mornings. Suggestions?

Which way round does the flight go? Are you travelling east to west or west to east?

When I travel from Europe to the USA, I take a normal dose before leaving in the morning and then 24 hours later I take a proportional dose to take me until the normal dosing time next day. With a 12 hour time difference that would be half your daily dose, 2.5mg. Then go back to the usual time for the next full dose.

Travelling from west to east I take the normal daily dose in the morning and then the dose at the normal time after a night's sleep - it is a short day so you are taking more in that 24 hours but it helps with jet lag and the strain of travel.

I'm flying west (Calif) to east (India). Staying in India for 2 weeks then coming home - east to west.
