Issues with getting suspect spots frozen off skin?

I have an appointment later today in which a skin doctor will freeze a bunch of odd spots on my legs, arms, maybe face. It happens ever year or so. It's pretty unpleasant, with the spots getting quite red, burning and in a few weeks healing. Do I need to change anything with my 13.5mg of Prednisone each morning? Thanks for any suggestions (including canceling the appointment)

If the procedure is to prevent skin cancers from developing I think you should keep the appointment. Especially these days when it's so often difficult to get any kind of procedure scheduled. Others with direct experience may, of course, have differing advice for you.

Hi Greytree, l’ve lost count of how many ‘odd’ spots & keratosis l’ve had removed in the last 10years & several of them have turned out to be ‘Bowen’s Disease’ which is now classed as pre cancerous. I’m about to rebook for my next session, they have always been very successful & l’ve found a couple of paracetamol/Tylenol has always been sufficient.

Good Luck 🍀

Thanks so much! That was a last-minute post and now I’ve had it done! Only one spot to be frozen! Will hit the Tylenol now. 👍

I wouldn't think any changes are needed but I'd discuss it with the person doing the cryotherapy. And I wouldn't cancel

Just seen - glad it went well

Thanks. I had called ahead and asked a nurse. She said it would be fine. Still, always leery, I told the doctor and she also said it would be fine. And it was. (-:

I had surgery for 3 skin cancer spots before I was on prednisone. I get checked every 6 months for new suspicious spots. I have had a multitude of precancerous spots frozen on prednisone. As my skin has thinned after some 18 months on prednisone the freezing results in large watery blisters. They are not painful but took over two weeks to heal over. Much slower healing but it is better than more cancer.

Thanks for the info. I got a watery blister. I forgot about skin thinning!
