Foot and ankle joint pain description with initial weight bearing
I felt as if I was wearing shoes 2 sizes too small with insoles that were a mix of pebbles, sharp gravel and broken glass! I've heard the glass bit said by several people.
I am so glad you posted this, I was told when I had an xray after a sprained ankle in January which was pre PMR diagnosis that me feet were very worn. My feet suffer terribly and have been although not pain free - tons better since I started on pred which leads me to think they are my problem areas too - not neck at all but upper arms, and feet. But also having arthritis in my hips and back and I thought feet too - its a job to say what pain comes from what issue so I am also taking paracetamol twice a day too I find that helps with the all over aches and pains. Thanks for posting!
As my experience broadens, , differentiating PMR v orthopedic issues for me ; are symptoms symmetrical and bilateral (both sides) unilateral ( one side), muscular v joint, at rest or with motion or both, associated with an event v "it's just there " when I wake up. Eventually you will be able to differentiate symptoms with skill, attention, awareness over time. .There can be a tendency at times to drift into "becoming your discomforts (pain)" not good for the soul in the long run. Differentiating symptoms, location, quality/ descriptors, vocabulary etc will contribute to better personal understanding and getting better care overall.. sorry if too wordy , not preachy, trying to help with context, and experience. Was a physio for a few decades. You will have an advanced degree education in you! that should serve you well. Best to you.. great group here. Hang in there.
Thats perfectly put thank you - and yes its the pain you accept which we do for too long until it worsens as did mine, I am learning so much and thank you for your input - I feel so much more in control of my body now I am beginning to understand it more. My feet swell hugely on the top of the foot and have done for years - this has been undiagnosed for a long time. Thank you again jls93. Very useful
