Possible flare

After writing my post three days go and feeling so good about myself. This is what happened next. I started experiencing pain in my shoulder blade on the left side, the opposite side from my fall. I immediately thought it had been caused by perhaps being over zealous following my physio exercises.

Then during the night, woke several times pain was getting worse. Used heating pad.

Tuesday

Still the same very uncomfortable took paracetamol every four hours made no difference - pain now in neck.

Wednesday

Woke once in night still painful, at 7.00am took paracetamol but by 10.00 no change, so decided to ditch the paracetamol.

2.00 - felt really uncomfortable and tired, slept for half an hour. The pain is now at the bottom of my skull. Wondering if it could be PMR?

Just to recap I’m on 3 mg and have been since 13 February, (my fall was 24 February)was reducing 1/2 mg each month and hadn’t had any pain for 12 months.

My thoughts are to increase my prednisolone as perhaps it’s a flare?

Thanking you

As paracetamol doesn’t seem to help, quite likely a flare, and not really much of a surprise….think it was mentioned as a possibility at the time.

This link contains info for usual procedure for dealing with a flare…just amend the figures quoted in example to your own levels….and fingers crossed it works…maybe back down to 3,5mg rather than 3mg though.
