Would Reflexology Help

Ive had PMR for 2yrs. Age 77 yrs. currently reducing Pred from 6.5 to 5 using Mrs Nails tapering plan and feel awful. Its mostly sort of burning pain and tenderness in arms, hands, hips and thighs. A little stiffness. I have very little energy and recently found myself sweating on the head after any lIttle task. I’m thinking about trying Reflexology. Has anyone tried this and did it help. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Would ask why you are tapering from 6.5mg to 5mg -or is that a typo? At levels below 7mg it’s wise to reduce by only 0.5mg a time -for illness snd adrenal reasons.

Whatever the taper is - (not sure MrsNails has one in her name) - as it sounds as if you are having a flare because you’ve gone too low. But if would be useful to know what one you are using so we could tell you how to address flare specifically -this is general info on how to deal with flare -

Can’t comment on reflexology - but if the issues are adrenal related rather than a flare it might .

If I were reducing from 6.5mg to 5mg in one go I would feel a lot worse than just awful. I would be on my last legs. I would go back to 6.5mg for a while and see how you go from there.

Note my diagnosis is Stills Disease which for me manifests as RA.I’ve had Reflexology and the benefits were similar to a good massage, nothing more that I could detect. My feet are so sore with RA in joints now that I can’t tolerate it now but the practitioner said it needs to be a regular activity to achieve results.

I had six sessions of Reflexology but it was of no help.
