Time for me to redress the balance a bit because I have moaned about the state of the NHS in Brighton.
Rheumatology gave me an urgent referral to Physiotherapy. They dealt with it fast. I had a phone consultation with a lovely chap this morning. He can see some muscular skeletal issues on my MRI that he may be able to help me with.
I have my first face to face in 2 weeks. Just a 10 minute walk from home. I am really cheered up by this.
Thank you NHS.

The NHS is very Jeckyll and Hyde. My whole area have just received a text from their local surgeries saying out two local hospitals “are experiencing an increasing level of demand” so don’t go their for broken bones, minor head injuries, scalds and burns etc. only use them for “a life-threatening condition”.
Yes some place miles away not in our area. Also my surgery has been sending patients to a GPs’ surgery around 10 miles away. I think this is the beginning of the end. I did read that about 50% of people asking for medical help would not have needed to with life style changes.
Im glad, i would say you are very lucky though.even my GP admitted they are very sketchy in my area.I have not had a good one yet, they seem to make it up as they go along , so upsetting when your in pain and turn to them for answers !! Im talking about Rhumys not the NHS.
I broke my arm in June 2020 when Covid was rife. Fracture clinic referred me for Physio, which was all done by telephone calls and excellent. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the 2 Physios who spoke to me. They asked relevant questions and gave appropriate advice from which I benefited. (They did describe me as the "perfect patient", as I did all the exercises they prescribed!) My arm is 99% better!
