Covid positive!

Feeling definitely more under par than usual I tested positive this morning on a lateral flow test. So now it’s time to try out the priority home test PCR . It wasn’t straight forward- as I’m sure we all suspected - but several phone calls later with conflicting instructions back and forth between DFRS and GP - the test is posted and I’m instructed to contact GP again if I don’t hear within 24 hours . It seems that time is of the essence for the chance of this ‘new treatment’ being successful- but they don’t half make it difficult!

Can I ask what DFRS stands for please? I looked it up on Google and it said “Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service” I’m pretty sure you didn’t ask them 😱

A question for anyone out there who knows the answer - are we still supposed to follow the 'Sick day rules' if we get Covid?

It would depend on the dose you were on I think. You are at the maximum so it wouldn't apply to you. And you should discuss it with your doctor - but since the new steroid card was issued because of healthcare professional ignorance about adrenal insufficiency in long term steroid users, I suspect some things won't have changed a lot ...

I wonder if word spread nationally or whether it was just a Leeds thing?

I thought Sarah drafted it as she gave me a draft copy

I think it was a joint effort between her and the Leeds endocrinologists.

that's why I wonder if it got promulgated nationally

I had a letter from the NHS saying I had been identified as someone that might benefit from a new drug treatment if I tested positive.

Me too, along with a PCR test kit

I hope you are one of the symptom-free ones!I'd be interested to know how you identified the 'priority posting box'. The one nearest us that according to Royal Mail is a PPB has nothing on it to identify it at all.

The NHS person on the phone told me but the box does have a notice on it - a small one!

I tested positive for covid last Wednesday, forgot about a PCR test which I was sent in December,so once my daughter tested positive I had book a PCR test online and did it on Tuesday.once I tested positive I received a call on Wednesday afternoon that I had to go for a NHS treatment, so I went on Thursday for an infusion. My symptoms are cough and feeling tired a bit feverish but its difficult to identify how would I feel if I didn't have a treatment. Shall we see.take care all.
