Methotrexate problems
If you look in the Related posts (to the right side for me, not sure where on a phone) you will find a lot of previous posts on the topic, might well be something there.
However - do you mean having infections or adverse effects?
Yes, plenty! But to be fair, I can't distinguish MTX side effects from those of PMR/GCA and pred. Except the sore mouth - the MTX PIL is the only one that mentions that.Did you have any particular issues in mind?

Hello Chipola, yes I experienced breathing problems on exertion with MTX. I gave it up after 3 months and the side effect faded gradually. However I know two people who have been successfully using MTX for several years. ATB
I mainly experienced tiredness for a couple of days.
Hi, yes l had issues with tiredness/fatigue when l started MTX also some nausea - however, l really didn’t have much option as the Prednisolone was causing me major problems…..I take it now by Metoject which is easier than the tablets tbh. Occasionally, l have a day when l feel a bit more tired but generally it’s unremarkable……
Hi, I've been on 20mg injectable for 15 months and haven't had any issues or side effects yet. The oral mtx gave me stomach problems so switched to injectable and have been fine. Monthly bloods have all been good.
I took MTX for 4 months first pills then injectable. The side effects were horrible for me. Felt like I had the flu for two days after dosing, extreme fatigue, shaky, dizzy, weak, four infections, heart palpitations, tongue sores, hot flashes, hair loss, GI distress. I could not tell it helped me taper off prednisone. At the end of taking it I had a flare and am now at 13 mg prednisone whereas I was at 12 mg when I started MTX. I Know it works for some but I had to give up. Feeling so much better off of it. You may not have any side effects some people do not.
