What is the difference? Is it the time they take to work?

Hi diana1998,They are one and the same thing. The enteric coating is designed to hold the tablet together in acid conditions (ie. In the stomach) thus releasing the drug further along the digestive tract when it reaches the intestines. (The word 'gastro' pertains to anything stomach related, hence gastro- resistant. As the drug is not released till it's in the intestine it obviously takes a little longer to be absorbed into the system.

Gastro resistant or enteric coated tablets are usually taken to help protect irritation to the stomach lining for those who's stomachs are sensitive or prone to irritation.
