Hi there I have suffered from PMR for over a year now I had weaned myself down from 20mgs to 8mgs - now up again -

Then due to a chest infection i was upped back to 20mgs Can i now revert to my old dose of 8mgs or do i need to start the whole tapering lark again maureen

You should be able to drop back down relatively easily, but it might be wise to take it in a couple of steps - say down to 15mg for a few days and then down 8 or 9mg. Really depends how you feel in yourself.

Have a look at sick day rules (linked) and if you’re not sure then speak to GP -

Depends how long you were on 20mg - under about 10-14 days you can drop back to 8mg immediately or in two steps a few days apart.
