Can you direct me to the tapering plans on the site please DevonLady. Lost them. Also after 8 weeks on 9mg prednisolone and low inflammation markers on blood test last week should I go to 8 now for 8 weeks (as rheumatologist advised) or8.5. Thank you. 😱

Whether you go to 8.5mg or 8mg is really up to you….my plan takes 4-5 weeks, so if you reduce by just 0.5mg you’ll be through one, and part way through the second when you see Rheumy/bloods tested next
You are on right track going tapering slowly ,my wife did mistake going down at 2 weekly, got flare at 9 went back to 10 -12.5 now on 40 mg . Chance of flare more near 10 mg . So go slowly let inflammation be settle . Your progress is good . I am sure you will be quite ok may little late . Good luck
Morning Crommie, I think as DL says it is up to you. How did the 10mg - 9mg go, if you did that in one go with no problems and if you are feeling ok at the moment then going 9mg - 8mg could well be OK, but if you have any worries then go down in . 5mg. Hope all goes well.

Hello Crommie, Based on personal experience I should do 8.5 for a couple of weeks a d then see how you get on with 8 after that. It took me a couple of times to get the dosage down, occasionally I had to go up again but I kept going and have now been off them for 6 months. The last month after I stopped completely was really painful sometimes but it was worth it in the end. If it was really awful one day I would take 1mg but eventually I kicked it into touch! Good luck, just be patient, slow and steady, and don't blame yourself if you have to take the occasional step back.
