Prednisone and fever?

Does prednisone increase temperature? Since starting it I have ran a low grade temperature.

Hello there, do you mean to be on this forum which is for autoimmune conditions Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis? I think there’s too little information to go by. Pred doesn’t cause a fever as such but you have plenty of reasons to have one. After Covid i ran a low grade fever every few weeks for 7 months. It caused fast pulse and respiratory rate with very little activity. Corticosteroids can cause increased pulse rate. Also, corticosteroids like Dexamethsone and Prednisolone are known to increase a type of white cell called Neutrophils which is one type among others. This will cause the overall white cell count to go up, so you need to know what sort of white cells are raised and why. Do you have a doctor who can explain these things. Have you tried any of the Covid Facebook groups?

I found that PMR can cause low grade fever and flu

Not flu as such, it can cause a flu-like feeling. Flu is a viral infection.
