After all your kind advice, I made an appointment with a very respected rheumatologist for this coming Tuesday. I felt better just knowing I had taken positive action BUT, yesterday I developed a very bad flare. I can truthfully say I feel as ill as I did before my original diagnosis, over four years ago. I try so hard not to increase my dose but I’ve had to give in today and have increased from 5mg to 10mg. I hope this will be enough. But I’m not sure how long it will take before I start to feel better? I’m actually beginning to think there may be something more wrong with me, I feel so poorly. I will be so relieved when I’ve had my consultation this week.
Sorry to sound so negative but I really am upset and worried.

Literally just logged in and seen this post Janann25. So sorry you are poorly but don't panic. Remember why you are in this position and the recovery may take longer and be harder because of the too rapid reduction. That's why you are having the second opinion.
No wonder you are anxious with all you’ve been through of late and inadequate explanations for doctor’s orders and no empathy for you coping on your own with a rapid taper when you are symptomatic. I am so glad that you have an appointment with a respected Rheumatologist. Let’s hope that in safe hands, things start to go well for you. Kind wishes, Jane 🌸You do seem to be describing Adrenal wobbles. An Endocrinologist would be a good idea.
good, I'm glad it helped. Now get some firm answers nd don't be told. It is your body and they need to understand everyone is different and there is no standard approach that can ever work. It has to be adjusted in consultation with the person suffering.
