Might be a good idea, Anic, especially if you've taken cold remedies which may affect your results. In any case, I don't think you should be sharing your germs in a health setting 😏. No offence!

Thank you for your reply. True. I wouldn't like to have someone else share their germs

I agree with Snazzy that it's annoying. Our tests and investigations are important to us and when they're cancelled for whatever reason it can be frustrating. The most important thing is to get yourself checked out if your symptoms become troublesome. I hope your blood test can be re-arranged for as soon as possible.

Unless you lie, you may fall at the last fence if they ask you about symptoms anyway. With the Delta variant is can be indistinguishable from a cold. May affect your inflammatory markers either from your illness or whatever symptom control you’ve gone for. Even a cold passed on could have a bad knock-on effect to someone. Annoying though isn’t it?

Thank you for your reply. I might give them a call tomorrow. I could go and have a Covid test on Thursday

I would never lie

If it is a chesty cold the main downside for a routine blood test is likely to be that the CRP and ESR might be raised - and make them panic unnecessarily. In that case the correct procedure would be to repeat it a week or two later - so missing it this week would make sense.

Thank you for your reply. I would not like to repeat in a week …Im thinking rescheduling is more sensible
