Hello , my wife suffering from gca FROM last Two month she started steriod 40 mg now goen down to 15 mg with starting weekly acterma injection last month .
She started feeling leg weakness , cold ,and numbness ,difficult to climb Is it. A side effect of steriod or acterma Or Some new problem Pl help if any one gone through this pattern of problem.

Agree with the others, that’s not to be left and should be seen as soon as possible. Even if it is a side effect, those symptoms can be other things that need prompt attention and must be ruled out first, such as large vessel involvement or a neurological problem to name just two. Did she ever have a PET Scan?If she was on Pred only, she could still be on about 40mg which is the lower end starting dose for GCA. There are a number of substances that cause inflammation and Actemra combats just one of them, Interleukin 6. Pred isn’t so specific which is why it is so effective and Actemra isn’t always the full answer for everybody. It may simply be she needs more Pred.
I agree that your wife should seek medical advice for this new symptom. A scan of some kind might be appropriate to examine the blood supply to her legs.
When I was diagnosed with GCA, a PET-CT scan showed that the arteries supplying my legs were inflamed. I am not saying that this is the case for your wife, but she needs a medical opinion.
