I would be interested to know what are your CRP numbers when you are on 5MG of prednisone or less. Mine originally, when diagnosed was 87, then 12 and recently back up to 19 at 6 1/2MG. Sed rate has always been fine.
Thanks

Varies hugely in individuals, Plains.
Mine are always ridiculously high. They did drop to 5 just after diagnosis they now vary between 40 and 100.
You should be aiing to keep to around the lowest you achieved - so closer to 12. If it starts to rise it is a sign that your dose of pred is slightly too low to manage the inflammation caused by the current level of disease activity. This needs to be checked again in the near future to see if there is a rising trend - although there is a "normal range" which should be quoted after the result as it varies from one lab to another. CRP can be affected by a lot of factors, not just PMR and GCA, including injury and chest infections. Depending on the person, either the sed rate or the CRP or both are meaningful - and it sounds as if you are a CRP only person.
