Quite fed up now.

I've had a vague illness for 2 weeks plus. Raging temps at night (now diminished thankfully), uncomfortable bowel movements but not diarrhea. Lethargy, fatigue, poor concentration and difficulty focussing my eyes at times.

Just writing this post is taking more time than normal.

Was Covid tested a week ago, negative. Full blood works on Monday, Dr says they're unremarkable. Shows slight inflammation but not too much.

He suggested another Covid test but I am waiting for an email to clarify his thoughts.

He thinks (as do we) it's a virus and I have to wait for it to take it's course.

Bloody steroids!

I am bored of doing nothing, going nowhere and feeling exhausted.

Thanks for listening.

Can only sympathise, trying to get rid of uti that has plunged me into some kind of further horror land!! Body feels like a piece of mush and cannot keep my eyes open. Totally get that "getting nowhere" feeling. Hope you improve soon!

Hello , do you actually power walk? I’m looking for exercise that won’t hurt my RA joints. I can’t do any thing with impact or weight bearing on the joints. 😃

Only in a previous life!!! Im lucky to get a walk in which i do to help keep me moving. I have tried some very, very gentle exercises but no joy, my body is not playing! But we keep trying. A lot of people here like gentle pilates type exercise but my muscles just wont have it but i akso have ME so my body is not happy with exercise. PMR really put the lid on things. I feel your frustration!

Aquafit seems an option?

Try to find a class that understands and can accommodate your illness I tried one and I thought the teacher understood as I told her my weaknesses but I still injured myself on one of the exercises and never went back. It took me weeks to recover. The teacher never enquired as to what had happened so wasn’t interested from the start in my opinion. Don’t always feel you have to keep up with the rest of the class either. Best wishes.

Hi there. Oh, I know that feeling when things seem to take an inexplicable downward turn for no obvious reason. Over the past two years there have been several times when I've experienced a week or so when I've felt much worse than usual.....Fatigue much worse, weak legs, digestive system out of sorts, headache, sweating. It's miserable...particularly when you don't know what's causing it. If other things have been ruled out...particularly covid!.... then it probably is a virus. They can knock you for six though and they do indeed have to run their course, which can take several weeks sometimes. Just rest as much as you can, drink plenty of fluids but stay alert for any new symptoms occurring.

I really feel for you and hope that you start to improve soon. Try not to feel too 'down'. You will get better and things will improve. Sending a hug. 🤗

So sorry you are going 'through it' - miserable! Rest, rest, rest and drink loads of fluids. You'll get there and those lovely walks are waiting for you.

Suggest may be good to do another Covid test - I know of someone who took two Lateral Flow tests, within two days of eachother, then a ‘proper’ test - the first two gave negative results but the third, full blown, test gave a positive result. Turned out they had caught Covid from their child, who had just returned to school.

Have you been diagnosed with RA officially? Sounds so much like a flare-up as your description of "flu-like" symptoms is so spot on with RA! What a horrible position to be in when you feel horrible and have no answers as to what is going on. Maybe the FULL bloodwork panel with give all the answers. I know when certain blood numbers for me are off just a twinge (doctors say oh you're fine) I can be feeling really BAD! I know this might sound dumb but are they checking your Thyroid also? Even if my Thyroid is in the so-called normal range... the normal range isn't normal for me. I had to see an Endocrine Specialist who got down to what feels right for me as everyone can be different. Hang in there! Hopefully, you'll have answers soon! In the meantime, be good to yourself...eat healthy (through in some ice cream once in a while), and try to think positive! PRAYERS!!!

hi patrickd, interesting to hear about your thyroid link ,ive just come accross this as a possible thing to be checked .. im at the begining of this PMR challenge and i had no idea it even existed ,did you have to go private to see specialist consultants ? i was referred to see a rheumatologist in 2019 because my knees were so swollen and painfull i could hardly walk .. i never got an appointment ... covid saw to that
