Hi, the flare protocol recommends an extra 5.0mg for up to two weeks. May be worth adding the extra 1.0mg and giving it a little longer.
Three days really isn’t long enough to get things under control. As suggested by Bcol see flare protocol - if you don’t remember it -
Never try to stick a return of symptoms out - you will always lose the battle against PMR!!
Not quite enough perhaps and not long enough - 3 days isn't long especially for only 3mg more than you really needed.
I have learnt from bitter experience that it is never worth trying to wait it out. PMR always wins.
I was thinking it may be adrenaline deficit but I was obviously wrong.Thank you for setting me straight.
I concur. I learned the hard way a couple of years ago. You need what you need. Pred withdrawal goes quickly, in a day or two. If it lingers or gets worse, then you know it's too low a dose. Remember our favourite sayings; "It isn't slow if it works" and "The lower the dose the slower the taper."
