It's kind of like a big club (that no one really wanted to join 😏) and having each other is a gift. We are so fortunate.

With BEER??

Why not?

Yup, was always a beer drinker, especially when it is hot. Brought up on Newcastle Brown Ale (Journey into Space name in NE.) - only beer at one time sold in House of Commons. Northern MPs insisted.

Sorry - my mistake!🙃 Thought your tipple was brandy!🤪

Oh - Newcastle Brown - haven't drunk that for years. Did order it quite often when we were in the Cotswolds though.

Brandy for medicinal purposes, developed as a medicine by Medieval Monks in France. Great painkiller.

Beer for pure pleasure - neighbours came and took me to their gardenlast Sunday afternoon - very hot (29c). Under an umbrella so needed hydration therefore three glasses of a new craft beer - delicious.

While you're on here ... did you know that Flexiseq has come out with a medicated version? CBD!

No Heron I did not - just had 4 packs delivered so when they run out might give it a try.

Will check if available in UK.

Ta muchly.......

BTW did you try it and does it help you?

I found out because I mentioned Flexiseq to a friend and she was interested so I looked up the link and sent it to her. No I haven't tried it, and my son gave me a huge amount of the OA strength for my birthday so won't need any more until Christmas. I don't think I need it at the mo but something to keep in mind if there's more deterioration in future. The buy now link only ever leads me to Amazon, so I don't know if you can purchase over the counter in the UK. CBD should be available everywhere as it doesn't make us high, but I guess the powers that be remain suspicious of hemp!

Actually, I've just looked at the website again, and strangely enough, the CBD appears to be an oral product, not a topical application. I could have sworn that two days ago I was looking at a tube of CBD-containing gel. My bad, I guess. I was just entering reaction to my Shingrix shot so maybe massive brain fog!

No worry Heron, but the flexiseq is just to go between the bones - sort of helping whatever cartilage is still there or replace for a while. I would give it a go and see if your pain lessons. It is not a cure - just helps and as it is not a drug, it does no damage.

Thank you so much for being a human being, who makes errors with 'brain fog'. 😘

Oh I know. Thanks to your advice I'm walking pretty much normally again! However I wouldn't take CBD orally. I thought as an addition to the gel it could be helpful to some. I've just written to Flexiseq asking if they're considering adding such a product to their line. So far my friend has already ordered extra strength Flexiseq for arthritis, and my son, a runner who uses a medicated rub, is going to try switching to the lighter version to prevent wear and tear. I think I am a good ambassador for the company. :)

It was Arthritis UK Research who developed Flexiseq with a German Pharmaceutical Company. It might just pay off taking a look at versusarthritis.org/about-a...

I joined Arthritis UK at the time I developed GCA, they were the only people who had anything to say about it at that time. Dasgupta worked closely or with Arc and wanted them to run a section - they just could not do it - so he embarked on his dream. If you want to read his story, written by him for our newsletter - then send me a PM. xx

Oddly enough I can't do anything with the Versus Arthritis site. Because I'm outside the UK? I tried googling to get a different link, but same issue. But I don't suppose they say anything I wouldn't have access to through Canadian sites?

Heron, tis funny because I met Ragnar on the Canadian Arthritis site.

Have you tried this one..............arthritis.org/

and you could try this link: arthritis.org/science

Going off for some tea and a bit of Yorkshire Brack.............

I've seen that. It's the American site. Here are two Canadian ones:

arthritisresearch.ca/

arthritis.ca/

But of course if you go to your doctor all they tell you is to take painkillers, keep moving and eventually prepare for surgery!
