Hi, please can I ask if anyone takes Creatine on here? I've read that it can be beneficial for muscles, particularly for those who exercise. I don't want to randomly add supplements while taking pred, so would be grateful if anyone has any knowledge on this supplement!
Many thanks x x x

The Mayo article seems fairly balanced - the Healthline one sounds as if the writer is an athlete and claims amazing results in everything. That is something that always raises red flags for me!
It does come with potential adverse effects - including hair loss. The good supplements are expensive and are of most benefit to athletes - I have read somewhere that without appropriate exercise it isn't of that much benefit, i.e. in short bursts of high intensity exercise. The opinions there seem mixed.
I have been taking creatine for about a year or so myself and haven't really noticed any directly associated downsides yet. For the positives, it does make you look a little fuller, gives your muscles a much rounder appearance and cause a noticeable spike in strength across all your major lifts.
However, I'm just 25 and do not have any existing disorders or illnesses. I would not affirmatively ask someone to assume the effects as that of mine for themselves. I mean, if you happen to have underlying issues, it's best to ask your doctor if this compound would interfere with your condition or medications.
From what I've gathered about creatine supplementation through my research, it is considered a safe supplement for the majority of strength-training individuals.
Aeden, I think you may be in the wrong forum. This forum is for people with the auto immune diseases PMR and GCA. I think you are probably a bit young to get either.
