Hi I was wondering if anyone had calcium in their shoulder tendons?? If so what helped it?? An ultrasound found I had this condition plus osteoarthritis. I’m really struggling with this condition it is extremely painful to move arm and can’t sleep on that arm.
I’ve had surgery 12 years on that shoulder after a car crash but it did improve until I pulled the quilt up one night. Hope you all have a good day.

After 14 months of prednisone I have both rotator cuffs torn. My right shoulder also has osteoarthritis and a lot of inflammation. I couldn’t raise my arms pass my waist. I have been going to PT for about 3 months and I am doing much better. The doctor didn’t want to do surgery unless I didn’t improve, as cuffs have been repaired a few years back. Hope you are able to get answers.
Yes I’ve had PT for about 4 months but Covid hasn’t helped as not doing face to face appts unless more serious conditions which I can understand. I’ve got a zoom appt with my consultant the end of the month so 🤞🏼. Hope your condition improves soon.
Sorry to hear that you can’t have PT in person. That makes a difference because they massage and exercise my shoulders and arms. Doing it through Zoom would not be the same.
I had calcification in both shoulders 10 years ago. I couldn't lift my arms above my shoulders. I went to a sports doctor in a hospital. I didn't know at the time but he treated all the local rugby players when they got injured. He used a small machine, that looked like a metal pen. It had a strong vibration and it broke down the calcification in the joints. Although painful at the time it did the trick. Unfortunately for his patients, because he was so good, he moved off to a higher position in another part of the country. If this is what you've got Maggie153, I would recommend this treatment. I hope you get something sorted soon.
Thank you for informing me of that treatment as I doubt my consultant would want to do open surgery due to added health issues. That sounds like what I might have too so there is some hope. Thank you.
Hi everyone hope you’ve had a good day and not suffering too much. I had my telephone consultation yesterday but it was what I feared that I do need surgery again. As there’s huge long waits for surgery I’m going to have a cortisone injection which they hope will help me. It’s strange though as I had a steroid injection last week into my trigger thumb, thankfully that has worked. I also noted my arthritis seems better so I’m hopeful. Thanks everyone.
