ESR depends on a number of factors. 30 is generally considered within normal range ESR for a female over 50 but CRP is not age dependent and over 10 is considered a little bit high. Your doc or practice nurse should be able to explain how this reading relates to your particular circumstances.
Depends what is is? As explained by iforget - for ESR it's not particularly, for CRP it is!

There is no "test for PMR" just tests to show if inflammation is present somewhere. As the others say, an ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) of 35 is raised by current standards. For some time it was assumed that it was normal for ESR to rise with age - then they realised it was probably because the older patients has undiagnosed inflammatory disorders.
But it is important to ask about the figures the lab quotes in brackets after the result - that is that particular lab's normal range for the test. And even for ESR they vary from lab to lab
My last one was 54 and has been as high as 77.
I originally started with ESR of 102 and a CRP of 194.7. Last blood test was 20 and normal. My doctor advised that an acceptable level is up to 25.
My normal ESR is around 9
