I was diagnosed with PMR in April 6yrs ago and I have finally reduced Prednisone to nil in late January 2021. I have waited this long to post to make sure I succeeded. I used the dead slow & stop method often recommended on this site. It has taken 6 yrs due to flares, stress & a cancer diagnosis. However, I will continue to read all posts on this site as we can always learn from each other as well as support each other. My next hurdle is the Covid19 jab due in May ( I'm in New Zealand) so I'm hoping that won't precipitate a re-occurrence. This site was so invaluable and was my only support throughout the last 6 yrs. For those in the UK where most of my family still live , enjoy the freedom of the lifting of the Lockdown. You deserve some freedom and pleasure. Thank you to everyone on this site and Good Luck with the continuing PMR/ GCA journey .

Well done. It's taken me six years and three months, and am now on a half mg a day. That's going well, so I guess I will try zero from the beginning of May. It certainly takes patience, but at least I've been without flares.Just starting to enjoy being able to go to non essential shops again, and getting a haircut!!!
Congratulations magmapearl3. Your story is an inspiring one. Wishing you continuing good health and strength. You are truly blessed to live in that beautiful part of the world.
