Felt better after blood taken

Hi all, had blood taken this morning and have felt great since full of energy , have not had this much energy or felt this good for months, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them? Just seems strange

Probably the relief that somebody was investigating.

I wonder if it is just relief that something is being done. I was ecstatic when I finally got my diagnosis of PMR and we all know that this is no cause for celebration. I was so tired of feeling like my various unpleasant symptoms were not being taken seriously.

My energy levels fluctuate a lot. And it's important to not go mad and.overdo it.

I've never connected it with having blood taken though.

No! Have had a lot of blood tests in past three months, no difference. I think you may just have a great weight off your mind because something is being auctioned! Maybe you have sunny weather, too, & both have contributed to your wellbeing! Enjoy it! S x

At that volume - I'd agree with SJ: relief something is happening.

Just enjoy that feeling regardless... I think the pred makes me feel quite 'chipper' which is a whole new experience for me, I'm usually always tired and exhausted, either from my underactive thyroid or just my crazy working hours. Haven't worked for several months and now wake up feeling quite positive sometimes... makes me laugh every time as I've never had that before, but I'm making the most of it before I start reducing again. Hope the results are good for you.

Whatever stresses brought you here have possibly gone now. This is the first time in my life when I haven’t had to go anywhere, achieve anything or march to someone else’s drum beat. Pity it took illness to set me free. 🌈

Oh I so know what you mean by that. I do feel it was the stress that brought me here in terms of Husband, work, general stuff going on, but now I am not really working (although I did say yes to some over Easter as they were desperate, which I am now dreading) I am surprised at how much I LOVE not working. Didn't think that would happen. I only miss the social aspect of the people I really liked, other than that, zero!

Sometimes it helps to just have someone else caring for you....little chat.

Had my weekly phone call today, just happened to mention how much I better I feel after blood taken yesterday so now dr think I might have to much iron in my body so more blood tests tomorrow to check levels

Oh - dear. Sometimes I just have to wonder - 20-30 mls wouldn't help if you have too much iron! Funnily enough I did think about that when you said it - I always felt well after giving a pint of blood!! But not a few tubes for the lab.

It IS likely he might find a raised ferritin level but that is common with chronic inflammatory conditions like PMR and does NOT necessarily mean you have too much iron.

But it does mean you must avoid iron supplements.

Quite!

Wouldn't normal have thought anything of it or maybe not even noticed the difference after having blood taken but I think only noticed yesterday cause it was a great improvement to how I been feeling last few months, today is the same feeling really well, only difference today to yesterday is pain in cheek and under eyes that comes and goes and not bad pain just noticeable
