I'm 17 years old, and I have misaligned teeth that have to be corrected by using braces. My friend is using metallic braces, and she is facing too many difficulties. The wires get poke-up and causing injuries to her mouth. She is also facing irritations while eating. And she told me to try Invisalign as it will not cause these kinds of problems in future. I have already found my nearest clinic [ milltowndental.com/dental-s... ] for taking appointment. But my parents are forcing me to use metallic braces. I want to know what are the benefits of Invisalign braces over traditional metallic braces. Can anyone, please help me to choose the right one?

I don’t think you want this forum - over 40+ and doubt if there’s a set of braces amongst all of us.
Don’t know what you typed in search engine- but it’s not us you need.
Hi DorsetLady— What a cordial reply! I appreciated the humor, too. Also loved DadCue’s and Toods’ responses.. Yes, this is a very special forum. We are lucky to be part of it. Best to all.

What a fantastic forum this is, even when a young person asks a question which is totally non PMR or GCA related they still get a helpful and caring answer. 🙂
I had Invisalign braces in my 50s. You wear them around 23 hours a day, but unlike metal braces they are not fixed. They straightened my front teeth without me looking like a metal mouthed teenager, and after a few months of wearing them I had a metal retainer behind my front teeth to keep them in the correct position. I was very pleased with the outcome.

My daughter had real problems with her teeth- the Invisalign were quick, painless, not noticeable and a complete success. But not cheap! She still wears retainers at night but can highly recommend.
Hi Evia_20, as you’ll now realise, you accidentally stumbled into a forum that support each other with very different health conditions than misaligned teeth, but we like to help!
My own very trustworthy dentist has just recommended aligners to my daughter who is 23 and has very slightly misaligned teeth - the two at the front, on top, so it bothers her a bit.
Here in London they are going to cost around £1400 if the dentist fits them and looks after everything, and around £1000 to buy them online - but that would mean no support so we’re not keen and are going to pay the extra. From the link you posted it looks as if you are in Canada so the cost will depend what health cover your family have.
The bigger problem might be your parents - I wonder why they are not keen on aligners? Perhaps they are just not familiar with them? You could do a bit of research and show your parents that aligners are standard practice these days. Better still if you can get the family dentist to reassure your family.
Gook luck!
I would recommend that you get Invisalign braces. Comparing to traditional braces, Invisalign braces last longer than traditional braces. With the new and updated technology and methods of getting the teeth straightened up, Invisalign braces can do the job. My cousin had recent braces and he chose to take Invisalign braces as his dentist(appletondental.ca/) also recommended the same.
Greetings from Texas- just wanted to wish you a fantastic start back to school tomorrow 🥰!
Edit* I’m just seeing your post is from 9 days ago. I hope March 8 was a good launch for you .
