I have 2 children and 2 beautiful little grandchildren. Unfortunately due to COVID I have not been able to see them in the flesh for the last 6 months. Although I do see them online, which does help
Having PMR for the last 8 months, this has compounded my other medical conditions and impacted my mobility and independence tremendously.
My Prednisolone reduction regime is currently at 7mg/day, reducing by 1mg every 4 weeks
Like the rest of the country, I am hoping that lock down will soon ease, and having just had my 1st Astra Zeneca jab, I hope this extra protection will soon allow me to visit with my grandchildren and start socialising with the rest of my family and friend soon.

So sorry to hear of your diagnosis, you are tapering at a steady pace but are now at a more crucial stage & the general consensus is we should only reduce by 10% of your previous dose as the differential becomes greater the further we reduce & really the aim is to taper to the lowest dose to keep your symptoms in check.
Good News on the Vaccine Front, l had the AZ too, last week. Depending on wether you are using a phone or laptop there are Pinned Posts to the right hand side & near the top there is one on Commonly Used Abbreviations we all tend to use, you might find it helpful.
I’m sure you are missing your grandchildren greatly & long to see them again very soon.
Me too, the phone is handy & l’m still in bed 😉 Dorset Lady will send you some Welcome Info shortly & there’s a fair bit of info in the Pinned Posts you might find helpful.
Hi there. It's horrible being unable to to see our friends and family in the flesh. Thank goodness for social media. I remember the times when our only link was by letter so no immediate response, or telephone when we had to go to the end of the street to the phone box as we didn't have a phone indoors. Now, we are easily able to connect in all sorts of ways; look at us here, 'talking' to people we've never met and making friends remotely. Technology is wonderful (when it doesn't go wrong!) and it can make us feel less lonely in these particular times.
I'm so sorry that you have health problems besides PMR which in itself can be difficult to cope with. How is the PMR and are you finding your tapering regime successful?
Your first vaccination will give you some protection against Covid but you should still be taking all the precautions you took before as I'm sure you know. As I understand, you must continue this for several weeks after the second jab and even then be very, very careful when socialising, etc. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel and we must try to be positive. Take care.
