I upped my Pred dose from 3mg to 10mg when I had Covid.
I started to lower it , then decided to go back up to 10mg while having some health issues .
I then thought I’d go down to 9.5mg . I realised this week I’ve been taking 6.5mg . In my mind I was convinced the 2.5mg tablet was a 5mg . Time to use a pill box , no ill effects apart from tiredness. x

Perhaps this is a bonus, if you’re not suffering that is. Tiredness at 6.5mg is not surprising because your adrenal glands need to start making up the shortfall and at this point they aren’t usually very enthusiastic. However, the only way to get them working is by being challenged at these lower doses and tiredness comes with it, so taking it easy too. Sorry about the Covid; mine took 7 months and I was on 0.5mg at the time. I upped mine a couple of mg for an early week when my lungs felt like they were on fire.
Oh gosh Snazzy , it is horrendous isn’t it. I wasn’t even aware of the aches because I suppose we are used to pain with PMR . I upped to 10mg for a month to support adrenals and lungs . Hospital gave me Dexamethasone on top of Prednisilone.
Did you have Long Covid, or do you think it was post viral.
Personally I don’t think my adrenals will ever get by without Prednisilone now . I know I was stubbornly struggling on 3mg .
It’s worth a try but really really slowly. The prescribed speed for me was way too fast. I’ve had post viral before, but nothing like what I had after what was no ordinary viral infection.
I will cut down very slowly, I’m awake now calves and hips having a good old ache, protesting about a little walk . Love my electric blanket, it does help .
I’ve read 1 in 3 people can get long Covid in varying degrees . You’re so right it’s the weirdest infection. I’m still getting palpitations. I don’t ever want it again, no thank you.
Take care hope you’re getting the vaccine soon . x
