This may sound crazy.....

....but it works for me. All in all, I feel pretty darn good but with the virus and all, I was having trouble carving out some time to even work at things I enjoy or listening to a book or painting....couldn't get the juices flowing.

So, I bought one of those wrap-around aprons for gardening or painting...or heaven forbid~ housework. You slip it over your head and the straps cross in the back. Well, now when I put that on I am focused on doing something...usually painting. I know it is psychological, of course, but it has been an energizer.

Terrible picture...great apron~๐Ÿ’–

Good idea! Iโ€™ve been having the same problem and I actually think this apron idea might help ๐ŸŽจ

If we were sharing a cuppa....you would know I was 80. The challenges life hands us makes me proud to be 80~!! Believe me, I and my parts are seasoned and well done.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

One of my sons will be 60 in April...that means he finished 60 years and boy! I never thought he'd make it.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ Turned my hair gray.

An action apron. Sounds very plausible, like a uniform makes one feel the part. Good idea.

Grammy, decades ago when I was working full tie, going to college full time, raising a family and caring for my parents and in-laws, I used to joke that I had to look down to see what I was wearing to remind myself what I was supposed to be doing.

These days, black leggings and a top that covers my butt is my uniform, unless it's summer, when I'm wearing shorts and a tshirt or a tshirt dress over a bathing suit.

It sound like you sure paid your dues to have your new wardrobe~! Enjoy๐Ÿ’–

I like the sets of glasses hanging from the top of the apron. All systems go.

Our eldest son is going to be 40 at the end of March. I wonder where the time has gone and then I look in the mirror and see my mum! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Oh yes, always relaxes me....wish I had enough money and energy to buy the lovely thatched cafe which sits back on the Horning broad which is now up for sale, so you remember it?...

Loads of lovely houses in Horning.

We've often eaten in that cafe.

I don't want an 'action' apron - I 'd rather have a 'relaxing' one!!๐Ÿ™ƒ

Wash the apron a lot....and never iron it, very relaxed~!๐Ÿ’–

Great pic Grammy! You look spritely and happy! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ...and your looks definitely defy your years! I too put on certain clothing for certain activities , apron for cooking and baking, a set of knackered old clothes for dog walking and outside jobs etc. What I put on sets me up for the activity I am about to do, which helps my mind set to do it. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Love it...you really made me laugh. I NEEDED a motivator; self-discipline is not my strong suit. Plus...just because you put the apron on...you don't HAVE to do work..do something fun!๐Ÿ’–

Love the idea of the apron and can see how it would work. I find that if I put my trainers on early in the morning Iโ€™m more likely to do exercise whether indoors or walking.

If I stay in slippers I laze around more and just get stiffer.

Keep doing what youโ€™re doing as itโ€™s suiting you.

Of course, I agree. Years ago I thought it such a treat to stay in PJs all day (still is in a way) but that brings out the lounger in me~! We need balance though~!๐Ÿ’–

Lovely pic...I stay well away from cameras...other people have often said over the years...that dosen`t look like you....but they do say cameras don`t lie!.....

My sister with RA, has discovered just how "crafty" she is,....unbelievable...it has been her saviour....

I think many people have discovered new enjoyments with the lockdowns. Crafting, painting, sewing....they can all be an additional 'collecting disease' but it sure is good for the spirit. ๐Ÿ’–

I really like your post. The mind is a powerful tool, scientists don't even know the extent of it. I am of the school "take as little medicine as possible." After 2 plus years I am tapering from 2mg of prednisone to 1 and one half. I have had problems along the way, fatigue , aches etc. To the aches I have when I wake up I say "I am ignoring you for now and will deal with you Later" Voila, later they are not as bad/painful. I turn to busying myself in housework, baking, reading and writing poetry, I would love to be able to draw. Perhaps one day I will try. Sometimes my aches respond somewhat to Tylenol as I have osteoporosis. Also sometimes my aches can be referred to what I have done the day before or the one before that. Fortunately I have a good GP who says I know my body better than anyone else and also believes less meds the better so does not try to force me to take anything. Keep smiling and doing. These days of masking I smile with my eyes at everyone I see. :)

I really try to be positive; I know I feel better when I'm happy and busy. You don't win every battle, but most of them. Lots of good advice in your response, thank you~! ๐Ÿ’–

Greetings from NS. Glad to hear that you are feeling better. January has been great here, very mild and only a couple of little snowstorms. I will be 80 in the Spring and I go by Grammy as well! ๐Ÿ’•

Forgot to say how wonderful you look. I turned 93 this month and am told the same thing. Often asked what is the secret. My answer is keep moving, never smoke cigarettes, eat healthy and always be curious and interested in the orld around us. My GP says we also have to consider the genes. A great morning even though very windy. I hope to get out with Lily, dog, a little later :)
