hi,i just need some help,been waking most morning with a sore throat,once up it goes,also get a tingling in on my tough,sorry about spelling.have not been feeling to good for last two weeks,does these inclue in side affect off pred.i have got GCA.SInce march this year,ftrst dose was 60mg. now down to 7mg.still getting few headaches,few aches and pains.

Hi,

You have posted about tongue and sore throat previously - have you followed up the suggestions with GP?

Not sure what you want by “not feeling good” - what exactly do you mean?

Headaches, aches and pains are probably because you’ve gone too low on Pred....60-7mg since March this year is almost suicidal.

If it were me, I’d try increasing dose to 15mg for a week (with doctor’s approval) or so and see if that helps.

If it does, stay there for 10days, then reduce to 12.5mg for 2 weeks, then 10mg for a month before you even consider reducing again.

Hi.thanks.havent been able toget drs.appointment,I have to ring up tomorrow.well it almost felt like flu,acheing,coughing ,no energy.ok will talk to her about it.

Are you sure it’s not COVID? Although it could be adrenals - fatigue etc - but not the coughing.

Just make sure you tell her everything (make notes if necessary) ...and please let us know outcome.

No it's not corvid,had a test it came back clear.thank youI will let you know how it goes.

Getting from 60 to 7mg since March is a fair speed of taper! That could account for some of how you feel. A sore throat can be due to silent reflux - stomach acid coming up at night.
