I returned to work in Sept as a nursery teacher and 7wks later I'm now enjoying ½term break. Inevitably I've had a mild return of aches and pains and after some discussion with one of our more experienced members, I knew I needed to increase my dose. I'm just curious to know at what dose does the immune system start to be compromised. Some info says 5mg and above, some, 10mg and above and some even 15mg and above. Has anybody got any advice or thoughts on this please, as obviously I have to weigh up my 'risk' regarding covid-19..... being in school is a vulnerable environment.

This is info given earlier in year - might help, but might not!

I don't think there is a fixed figure - if you are on oral pred you might be absorbing anything from 50 to 90% so it depends on the person. I can't say that I get any more infections at 15mg than at below 10mg or even than not on pred. Covid is another matter though - although I don't really think there is that much difference in that no-one has any immunity so all of us are at a similar risk.
