I get a weekly digest of posts to this forum and was reading the thread re missing travelling, either early this morning or last night. At the time I was too tired to respond. Want to thank all the contributors to that thread, it was an interesting read.
Thanks for the tip ? PMRpro regarding spray mist for eyes. I have had a dodgy lower lid for 2 weeks (which I'll take to the Dr's this week if it doesn't clear up). It started like a Stye (I've never had one so have made some assumptions). Now whole lower lid is noticeably swollen compare to the other side. Anyway, I bought some spray this afternoon and already feeling more comfortable ocularly.
After my run in with the mad, retired, enthusiastic locum I went back to 8mg daily to try and stabilise my PMR. It worked finally after 4 weeks. I am feeling relatively well and have energy. I am walking normally. Have started walking again for exercise which is astonishing (to me). Have walked 5 of 7 days this last week and his afternoon we walked along the river near our home. First time in years I've been able to do that. I am using walking poles which are giving me stability.
I had some thoughts (what comes first, chicken or egg). I am well enough on 8mg to walk and improve my muscle tone and overall health. Continuing on 8mg for a few more months should allow me to build up enough to come down slightly and continue walking. At 7.5mg daily I wasn't feeling as well as I am now and couldn't have walked as I am now. I know what I prefer, what do you think?
Finally, I am sorry for those who are finding the Covid situation so difficult. We don't travel loads and have missed our annual visit to family in the UK. I have missed my annual sea fix. Other than that I feel very lucky to be surrounded by countryside I can enjoy on fair weather days.
I've been keeping a very loose diary (by loose I mean there is a 2.5 month gap over summer). I am frequently reminded of Anne Frank (I re-read her diary last year). We are so lucky. We have access to our families via the internet, we can use the loo when we want, we can make noise and we don't have to sleep with a creepy guy in our bedroom. There is no chance that any moment we could be marched from our home and taken in a cattle truck to Bergen-Belsen . I am not down playing the horrible situation we have found ourselves in, I just remind myself how lucky I am.
