I am sticking (trying to) with healthy diet. Taking Calcium D3 mag. and K27 and taking adult TAP class but Heel drops do the trick too (see youtube heel drops. ) easy and good for bones. and I OWN but am not wearing my weight vest. stopped alcohol but won't give up coffee totally.. and my bones after a year on Pred. stayed the same dexa score -2.7 haven't been checked again after another 2 years on Pred. I will NOT use any other medication. the Alodrenic Acid (sp) scares me. There is a book called Your Bones on amazon by Lisa Pizzorli (sp also) which is excellent!! That's my take! good luck. what are you Dexa scan numbers.

I will look at Your Bones on Amazon. I've only just started Adcal D3 and spoke to my GP this afternoon. He said that you can't overdose on Calcium as your Kidneys will remove any excess. I asked whether a diet would be better than tablets and he said my h better to stay on medication. I have started to take K2 along with soya and magnesium. I am waiting for my first DEXA which I hope will help my future choice

You can't overdose unless there is something wrong elsewhere. However - many people find the calcium going through the kidneys forms grit in the urine or even kidney stones. One lady even developed gallstones due to too much calcium.

That's a concern. I would hope our GP's monitor our calcium levels/ kidneys via regular blood tests. I have ordered Your Bones as it looks very informative.

I don't think that is likely to show much - the body keeps blood levels steady. It isn't everyone though, You are more likely to notice if you form the grit, it often causes similar symptoms to a urinary tract infection which then improves if you miss the calcium for a few days or drink lots more.
