I pick out 5 things per day. If I miss one it goes at the top of the list the following day (only Mon-Fri)
I have been in quite a lot of pain with PMR and PA and have been "leaving things" which is annoying me. I don't like 'clutter'! It's also given me a spurt to get out of my recliner more frequently.
Have managed 4 days so far!π I don't get annoyed with myself if I can't do all the list, I just know I am trying harder to cope - a good feeling!
Greetings to all. C.

Good scheme - you're likely to get through at least some of the tasks this way. I'd only add that it's better to keep the tasks very specific and fairly manageable, rather than vague and huge.
Only have things on the list that I have meant to do but always put off for another day and general health and housework. At least this way things will get done (in the end)!π
Thought of you today, lucky enough to get out, went to Wroxham, lovely and quiet for the few cruisers on the broad. The large Mississippi riverboat went along, but only 3 on it!......
Good advice. It took me a couple of years to realise that. I don't like sitting in an untidy room that needs hovering etc. So now I have one clean room I can go to all the time to reflect non how much it doesn't matter, things can wait and its no where near as important or annoying as I think it is. It's all in the mind. Just change your mind.
First of all, don't try to 'push through' your pain to get jobs done. You're doing well to get one thing a day done at the moment. Yesterday I shredded 3/4 of a carrier bag of paperwork-yay!! It's been hanging around for weeks and of course being added to often. You probably do more than you realise in terms of basic stuff like wiping down surfaces, a bit of jollop round the loo, etc. Pat yourself on the back, figuratively speaking!
I make lists and use the 5 things system, but it taken me a while to understand I have to actually DO the to do"s.Perhaps that's where the system falls down.Ok, try the s.m.a.r.t goal setting next, but it takes more time and effort to work on this than just doing the task.Just don't say the p word[procrastinator]Another day tomorrow! best wishes.
So good, so positive. And every time you get out of the recliner you give your muscles a tone, a little stretch is so helpful. We carry a lot of tension! ππ»πΊ
