Pred affects many things - adrenals (as we all know), blood pressure, blood sugars and maybe other tissues/organs that we are not be aware of.....and it CAN take up to a year for everything to settle back down.

Personally don’t think it took that long for me, but - as we are always saying - it probably varies from P2P depending on length of time on Pred, issues during tapering, cumulative dose etc, etc!

As far as adrenal function is concerned the medical literature quotes up to 12 months being required for that to settle down to normal reliable functioning, up until then it can be a bit hit or miss.

I know quite a few people who have got off pred altogether who have said it took a while before they felt "normal" after stopping pred altogether - they meant physically, in terms of muscles and tendons being more resistant to strains for example, energy and what they were able to manage to do before getting tired.
