Hi
I've just taken my 4th dose of a 18 day trail of predisolone.
Is it normal to have swollen glands in the neck?
Thanks

Not something I have heard anyone complain about as a result of pred. I think it has led to a change in diagnosis though.
What exclusion tests have you had to come to the diagnosis of PMR? A full range of blood tests should be done because there are some underlying causes of PMR-like symptoms that would cause swollen glands and they should be picked up by doing that.
hi PMRPro
On 17th August I had blood tests - CAALB, CK, ESR, FBC, LFT, TSH, UE, VITD
and on 3rd September I had blood tests - ESR, CRP.
Everything has been done over the phone - I haven't actually seen a doctor. It was me that suggested PMR to them (tbh they seemed more intent just fobbing me off)
If all those were OK then that is reassuring - but if you have swollen lymph nodes you do need to get that checked out. Just in case.
Thanks. I'll try but with doctors refusing to actually see patients it is difficult.
The tests were all OK apart from ESR and CRP.
Cheers
GP and I suspect stress / anxiety was a factor in my PMR . Swollen glands can indicate anxiety. I get it occasionally and take it as a warning sign that a flare could be around the corner (not that it has happened yet).
Ironically, stress actually led to my diagnosis but also led to the solution to the stress - I was stressed because of Mrs Wuntoo's health, broke down and, when she saw that, she agreed to get herself checked out and her health challenges were addressed.
