My blood test routine is working well. My practice nurse emails me the forms to print off. I then have a short drive into our local hospital, where the walk in system means that I rarely wait more than five or ten minutes. Last time there was no waiting time at all. The results go to my GP and I can look at them on their patient app. A couple of days later I can see them on MyChart at Addenbrookes. I didn’t believe it the first time - now I take it for granted!

Shame they can't get their act together like that everywhere!!
Same in Ontario. Quick. On line.
Urgent blood test - I'm off to my "urgent" blood test today, a two week wait after trying to book it. Unless a blood test says urgent, an appointment for it cannot yet be made!
That used to be true for us, and we could still wait for hours after our appointment time. Since our (small) local hospital went appointment free for blood tests and x-rays the system has worked far better, and the waiting times are minimal. Something of a lesson, but I don’t know how many people are learning.
