Morning all, beautiful morning here (NW) and no thunderstorms during the night, much to the delight of the the bowwows, but due more today. Anyway, I have been on a three week taper from 20mg to 18mg, with this my third week being on 18mg everyday, finishing on Saturday. So far so good, few niggles this morning but nothing dire. So my question is, should I give it another week at 18mg to make sure or can I go into the next three week taper from 18mg to 16mg. All of course depending on what happens for the rest of this week. I'm not looking to rush anything and this journey will take as long as it takes. Peter

Taper, to stick for another week or move on?
Hi Peter,
Personally I would give it another week - to see if you can get rid of the “niggles” - and to make sure they don’t become more than that.
Good luck.
We are praying for storms in the East here, been above 30C for days and no rain for weeks. Would gladly give up a night’s sleep sitting with my bowwows if it means a storm in the night! I think they are fed up with it too.
Anyway, back to business. So, since you’re getting niggles, which may or may not signal getting close to your current lowest effective dose, why not give it a week and drop by 1mg? Besides dropping from 18-16 is taking you into over 10% territory, albeit only just.
I'd give it the week because of those niggles.
All of you wishing for rain/thunderstorms should maybe have a look at the reports from Scotland. Fife airport had 3+ inches of rain in an hour and the A68 is closed because half the road has been washed away. My daughter was driving to work and took a photo of the lightning - which looked like xmas lametta or the long strings of xmas lights for balconies! And night staff at Kircaldy hospital left work to find the carpark - and their cars - under water after flash flooding ...
Thanks, I've just modified my spreadsheet. Def wet further North, think we might be getting similar a bit later.
It has been pretty grim here in Fife, schools closed on day they were meant to reopen, roads closed, power cuts, land slips. My OH enjoyed watching the lightning last night, he hadn’t seen wildfire in years, quite a show! There were still huge thunderclaps at 6am this morning and just heard a passenger train derailed south of Stonehaven due to a land slip, is very serious I believe. Now the suns out and it’s very hot, strange weather!
Because of the niggles I would stay on your current dose for at least another week.
Try a 1 mg reduction next time perhaps?
I now have to do six weeks in between reductions particularly as I get lower.
