Lower back pain

Hi, Everyone , have pmr since jan, on steroids since march. But lat six weeks have an overwhelming pain in my lower back spine area, kills when i bend forward , feels like stretching pain in that area. Never had any back pain with this condition! Does anyone recognise this ? Or is it not conected to pmr ?????

It may be sort of connected - something called myofascial pain syndrome is common alongside PMR. It will cause back muscles to tighten and even spasm. It will involve various muscles, trapesius (shoulders), lats (the large lateral back muscles) or piriformis. I've got exactly the same problem - leaning forwards slightly to sweep or use a vacuum is poison for me! I'm not supposed to do either - I'd just found a cleaner again and Covid-19 appeared so she can't come in my house!

Since joining this group my ailment are so similar to other people! yes ive had and have terrible pack pain ,it started about six weeks into both courses of Pred ! its tight and very sore mine is across my lower back, so tender in the kidney area ! Had the test for my kidneys all ok.I have a heat pad that i plug in and some gel i rub in ,it helps . Good luck i know how painful this is x
