Back pain ?

Morning all ! I have experienced lower back pain centre spine area, so when i bend forward i have severe pulling stretching pain, for last five weeks. Its with me 24/7 never had any kind of back pain since having PR since January . Any ideas ? I really feel like i would like a scan, but my Gp has given me exercises 🥴

My instinct said exercises to stretch out your back and counteract the ways you have been moving or being more sedentary. I think that has contributed to mine. We are not going to be offered the range of routine investigations for a while yet, I fear.

Sounds like my back problems - myofascial pain syndrome in associated with PMR. Often difficult to tell which is causing what but both involve the same inflammatory substances. In PMR they are systemic (throughout the body) and in MPS they are found located in hard knots of inflamed muscle fibes and in the fascia (the transparent skin surrounding muscles).

As PMRpro has said probably it is Myofascial pain syndrome.

I also had Piriformis Syndrome. I eventually resorted to Acupuncture, after exercise and physio did hot help and Sciatica came along. 6 weeks of one hour sessions and it was gone. Fingers crossed it is still gone. This however was before C-19.
