Morning all. I’ve got my first face to face rheumatologist tomorrow and I’m ready to see him. My ANTICCP was >340, which is significant and I’m sure I’ll be given a DMARD and get tapered off the PRED. Can I ask, I’ve been on PRED for 5 weeks now and my pain is terrible and lasts until lunchtime where I feel it easing and early evening is a good time for me. When I first started the PRED my pain had greatly reduced but not now?..... do you think it’s still helping a bit, and I’m likely to feel so much more pain when trying to get off it? Thanks in advance

What dose are you on? Sounds like your disease activity requires a higher dose than you’re on, so yes, if you carry on reducing it’ll get worse.
Since it really does look as if there is an inflammatory arthritis going on there too you may be left on the pred until whatever DMARD is chosen starts to work - they can take a few months.
Have you tried taking the pred before bed? Have you tried 20mg at any point? Have you been resting and pacing as much as possible?
I was taking one at bed and two in the morning but I felt the pain in bed and morning just the same so reverted back to three in morning. I do rest... i don’t do anywhere near what I used to....I work full time, from home but do take regular breaks, walks etc...I enjoy the early evening as I’m really quite pain free then.... but it just all starts again overnight
