Will other nations follow suit as deaths/cases continue to decline?

No need to continue shielding after July 31st in Northern Ireland
Hi Phoenix
Are you in NI & Shielding? I just wondered how you felt when reading this?
MrsN (Shielded)
No I’m not I’m shielding in Wales! I just keep an eye on what other nations are doing regarding shielding. in wales those on the shielding list have had a letter from CMO informing us that shielding has been extended to august 16th. It’s baffling how the shielding advice varies so much between the nations- clearly geographical stats are considered but I wonder if they are all taking advice from different scientific sources. I would be concerned if there was a blanket lifting of shielding without ongoing advice/plans for those of us that have been shielding for over 3 months.
OK, I get it, but with high grade mask, like those that PMRpro recommended. No crowds either.
I would be more upbeat, if Track and Trace, which actually worked, was in place.
On Radio 4 this morning with Hague actually agreeing with Blair, I nearly fell off my chair. Hague went a lot harder than Blair as well.
Tomorrow we’re having some Pergola Posts & Beams delivered, there’s a Six Foot Beam, maybe MrE can make one into a Barge Pole, that’s be useful for distancing from people 😉
I prefer an electrified cattle prong. Useful on useless doctors as well. YBB
Has your mask arrived yet, it would be good to hear a review?
Yes, I tried it on and it was comfortable, but as I was going nowhere I just kept in on whilst in the garden for around an hour.
It was much better than the one I was given to go to the hospital with from my friend who works as a Carer I found that difficult to breathe with and it steamed by glasses up and at one stage I had to lift the bottom up so I could get some breath. Susan said that most of them were having difficulty with them, especially indoors with clients. As as there are 3 in the pack - she will get one.
I also discovered on the leaflet inside:
'As from the 15th June, mandatory masks for those using public transport in England was introduced. (Which I knew already).
However:
'Whilst NHS Staff are supplied with masks for working shifts, unfortunately this does not include provision for when they travel to and from hospital (on busy public transport) so we at Oceanview wanted to ensure they didn't need to be putting their hands in their pockets or even have to think about when they would find time in their brutal schedules to buy their mandatory face covering.
Your purchase not only helps protects the environment from an ecological* disaster but also has ensured an NHS Hero has the mandatory covering they need when travelling to and from work. Oceanview Masks has matched your recent purchase with an equal donation of VP195 masks to Adee Phelan's 'NHS Gift for Heroes campaign. This charity is self-funded."
Now that made me feel great as when I bought them I thought the price was a little on the high side. Now I realise, I bought 6 masks in all. £45 which makes them just under £8 each and they are washable 30+.
£20 for 50 masks which are to be used only once. So 3 masks which each last for 30+days for around £8 and 3 goes to the NHS.
No brainer as far as I am concerned and I now realise why they are special masks.
* and that means I am not adding to the millions of daily disposable masks' which are adding the plastic heap of rubbish.
I pleased the PMRpro found them and posted the link for this 'Medical Device Directive Class I.'

Yes, its long all I really I wanted to say it is 'Pukka' in my eyes.
Thankyou, that's just what I wanted to hear. I hope they have enough left.
Such a good idea helping NHS workers like that. There was a company on TV a few weeks back that did the same with the hand cream they made, one given to an NHS worker for each sold. They must get through masses of hand cream.
Each Home Nation has its own science advisors, in addition to the SAGE lot, and their own Ministers for Health. The final decision in each country is up to the PM (England) or First Minister (Scotland, Wales and N Ireland).
Wiki says (as of 18th June):
"Northern Ireland has the lowest recorded coronavirus death rate in the United Kingdom and a lower rate than the Republic of Ireland.[2] It is also carrying out more tests per capita than the other countries of the United Kingdom.[3] According to the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency, the vast majority of deaths linked to Covid-19 were among over-75s and almost half were in care homes. It is believed the infection rate is higher in care homes than in the community, which is inflating the overall rate."
So they are a long way ahead of the other countries in what they can do,
