My last three blood test have flagged up a low igM My Gp has asked my permission to contact Haematology to see if further tests are needed. Has this been a problem with anyone else ? I was diagnosed with PMR September 2019 and currently taking 6mg daily prednisolone

I don't know anyone on this forum - but I do know a few over on the LupusUK forum. Taken them time to get their heads around it if you have had 3 low results!

I’ve been on Prednisolone for about 6 years but that’s never a test my rheumy did. I’m now with a GP and haven’t had any blood tests for nearly two years, something I will ask him about when I next speak to him! I used to be tested for CRP, liver and kidney function, cholesterols and vitamin D.

What - no Hba1c? All of those should be done every 6 months in an ideal world...

My inflammation was slightly raised not a concern to my Gp and my various bloods came back “normal” but I couldn’t have felt any worse for 3 months ! Went to hospital out of desperation and was told my symptoms were PMR, started 15ml Pred amazing before the week ended.

Shame too many GPs don't seem to understand what normal range means. My ESR trundled along at about 16-18 at one point here - so I assume that was the case in the UK too. No-one remarked on it - but for me it is very high, my personal normal is low single figres.

Hi Dozzer!

I started out with PMR ABOUT 2 years ago and GCA about 18 months ago.

My immunoglobulins are also low and I received a diagnosis of CVID in 2014.

It is an immune deficiency which requires me to receive antibody infusions every four weeks.
