This is just a general reminder to get your eyes checked on a yearly basis. Nothing to do with PMR but age I think. I have glaucoma and if I didn't nag for six monthly checks (my apts were cancelled 6 x) I would not know that I need more and more specialized drops. Don't lose your sight! Pressure should be @ 18 or under.
Thx.

Easy to forget in amongst all the other appointments! I have regular checks as my father had glaucoma and macular degeneration- family history can be a factor as well as age (and GCA in some cases, of course) x
Glaucoma reminds me of my sister in law who was always able to get free eye checks all her life as her father had glaucoma. The only thing was that she was adopted!
Glad to see your post. My optician has now proposed yearly NHS eye tests, instead of the usual two years. However, I'm of the opinion that more frequent eye tests should be available to people with PMR, because of the risk of GCA and though it's an expensive option I've decided to have the occasional private test with an ophthalmologist. Your eyes are so important.
