Missed a dose (of everything and 12.5mg Pred tapered from Monday) .. didn’t realise until I went for my meds this morning. Did feel a bit achy yesterday but assumed it was the taper!
Anyway .. I do like knowing that missing by 24hours clearly didn’t make anything serious happen and I’ll be attempting to make sure it doesn’t happen again!! My right knee which has arthritis is v painful but the other usual PMR bits just slightly painful.

We’ve all done it. If your PMR grumbles as time goes on, you might try a mg or two. I was fine, curiously liberated. 🙂
I have missed a couple of doses.... And doubled up. Like you I was more achey but survived. Had I missed a couple if days my body might not have been so forgiven. But like you say nice to know your limit. Doubling up felt better. 😉
Really depends on the margin between the dose you are taking and the dose you are looking for: the lowest dose that manages the symptoms. At one time I did alternate day dosing - taking a double dose on alternate days, zero on the others. You can't do that in PMR unless the antiinflammatory effect lasts well over 24 hours for you, as it did for me.
I managed to only take 2mg instead of 10mg for 5 days and thought i was dying. I upped my dose to 15mg straight away and stayed there for 3 days and then dropped back to 10mg as all pain had gone. My gp.was retrospectively happy with my actions. I wont make that mistake again!! YBB
I've done that more than once! I never tried to "make up" the dose, because whatever I take only works for a day anyway. In fact I seem to remember the paper which came with my first pred prescription (currently filed inconveniently away) specifically said not to double up the dose, just to take it when remembered, or regular amount at usual time if forgotten for 24 hours
Currently doing the slow taper from 6-5 mg but missed one day because I had a colonoscopy and the medication for that washes everything out of your body anyway! But had no ill effects and just started take the pred again the day after the procedure.
